Integrity and Self-Worth

Integrity and self-worth how we not only present ourselves, but they are also how we feel about ourselves. When we are having a hard time loving who we are or how we think we look, it will often times manifest in how we treat others and in our conversation. A little joke here or there about appearance might be funny, but can have lasting effects to those who hear the joke. Satan uses his tools to break down everything that God has made. God made us all beautiful in our own right and it is through our actions that will either solidify who we are as His children or weaken us to be easily broken by Satan. Our self-worth and our integrity are built upon and reinforced when we concentrate on those things that bring us closer to Heaven Father. KW

"It is my firm persuasion that building self-esteem sufficiently to forsake all evil requires a consecration to the saving principles and ordinances of the gospel under divine priesthood authority. It must be consecration to simple, basic Christian principles, including honesty to self and others, forgetting of self, integrity of thought and action. The principles of the restored gospel are so plain, so clear, so compassionate, so endowed with beauty, so graced with love unfeigned, as to be imprinted with the indisputable impress of the Savior himself."
~Elder James E. Faust, "The Dignity of Self" General Conference 4/1981

“The size of your faith or the degree of your knowledge is not the issue – it is the integrity you demonstrate toward the faith you do have and the truth you already know."
~Elder Jeffery R. Holland, "Lord I Believe" General Conference 4/2013

"... I say, 'Look inside yourself. You are more than what you have become. Remember who you are.' You are a son or daughter of our Heavenly Father. You have come from His presence to live on this earth for a season and to live in such a way that you are an example of the believers and a true light to the world. What that season has ended, you will be able to return to live with Him once again."
~President Thomas S. Monson, "Be a Light to the World" BYU Devotional Address 11/2011

"God's light is real. It is available to all! It gives life to all things. It has the power to soften the sting of the deepest wound. It can be a healing balm for the loneliness and sickness of our souls. in the furrows of despair, it can plant the seeds of a brighter hope. it can enlighten the deepest valleys of sorrow. it can illuminate the path before us and lead us through the darkest night into the promise of a new dawn. This is 'the Spirit of Jesus Christ,' which gives 'light to every man that cometh into the world."
~President Dieter F. Uchtodorf, "The Hope of God's Light" General Conference 2/2013

“…Noble character is like a treasured porcelain made of select raw materials, formed with faith, carefully crafted by consistent righteous acts, and fired in the furnace of uplifting experience. It is an object of great beauty and priceless worth. Yet it can be damaged in a moment through transgression, requiring painful, prolonged effort to be rebuilt. When protected by self-control, righteous character will endure for eternity.”
~Elder Richard G. Scott, "The Transforming Power of Faith and Character" General Conference 10/2010

“… As the literal spirit children of our loving heavenly Father, we have unlimited, divine potential. But if we are not careful, we can become like the wilted tomato plant."
~Elder M. Russell Ballard, "This is My Work and Glory" General Conference 4/2013

"Love engenders faith in Christ’s plan of happiness, provides courage to begin the process of repentance, strengthens the resolve to be obedient to His teachings, and opens the door of service, welcoming in the feelings of self-worth and of being loved and needed."
~Elder Richard G. Scott, "We Love You–Please Come Back" General Conference 4/1986

“You need to be honest, open, forthright, engaging, respectful of others’ view, and completely non-defensive about your own.”
~Elder M. Russell Ballard, "Engaging Without Being Defensive" BYU Commencement Address 8/2009

"Satan would encourage you to continue to relive the details of past mistakes, knowing that such thoughts make progress, growth, and service difficult to attain. It is as though Satan ties strings to the mind and body so that he can manipulate one like a puppet, discouraging personal achievement."
~Elder Richard G. Scott, "We Love You–Please Come Back" General Conference 4/1986

“Recognize the good in others, not their stains.”
~Elder Richard G. Scott, "For Peace at Home" General Conference 4/2013
